RoamRani vs. group tours
| RoamRani | Group / Viator | |
|---|---|---|
| Who you travel with | Just you | 8–20 strangers |
| Taj sunrise | ✓ First through the gates, private | With the whole group |
| Pace | Your schedule | Fixed departures |
| Driver safety | ✓ Police-verified, RoamRani ID | Varies, unverified |
| 24/7 contact | ✓ Chetna or Samarth, personal | Generic helpline |
| Flexibility | ✓ Change anything, anytime | Fixed — changes cost extra |
| Women-first | ✓ Built exclusively for women | Generic audience |
| What you're actually paying for | ✓ Your money goes to guides, stays & logistics — directly | Viator & TripAdvisor charge operators ~35% commission. That cost is passed to you — or absorbed by cutting guide quality and accommodation |
| After-sales support | ✓ Chetna or Samarth handle any issue personally, on the day | Marketplace ticket system — operators are incentivised to avoid refunds, not solve problems |
* Viator and TripAdvisor Experiences charge local operators 20–35% platform commission on every booking. This is either added to the tour price or recouped by reducing what's delivered.

A comparable group tour on Viator typically costs $450–600/person — shared with 15–20 strangers, fixed schedule, 35% of your money going to the platform. Private travel with RoamRani starts at $300/person — less than most group tours, and incomparable in experience.

Honest answers.
What does the price actually include?
Every RoamRani price covers your private ASI-licensed guide, private AC transfers between cities, and heritage guesthouse or haveli accommodation. Meals and international flights are not included — we find most women prefer to choose their own food experiences. Your exact quote will list every inclusion line by line, before you commit to anything.
Is India safe to travel as a solo woman?
Yes — when you travel with people who know what they're doing. Every driver is government-registered and police-verified. Every guide holds an Archaeological Survey of India licence. You'll have Chetna's or Samarth's personal number from the moment you land. You're not navigating this alone — that's the point.
What does the free consultation involve? Am I committing?
Nothing. Chetna or Samarth reads your enquiry and replies within 24 hours with honest thoughts and initial ideas. A draft itinerary follows at no cost. You decide whether to proceed. We have never hard-sold anyone, and we don't intend to start.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For peak season (October–February) — especially Taj Mahal at sunrise — start 3–4 months early. Heritage accommodations and sunrise slots book out. For March–September travel, 6–8 weeks is usually enough.
What's different about RoamRani vs. Viator or TripAdvisor?
One guide for you, one driver for you, an itinerary built around your dates and pace. You're not sharing your Taj sunrise with strangers. Nothing is fixed — everything is built for you, then refined until it's exactly right.
What if my plans change after I book?
We plan for it. Every itinerary includes clear revision terms. Life changes — we'd rather adjust a plan than have you travel on wrong dates. We'll be honest about what's possible and work with you to find the best path.
